This Project is a study of violence and brutality, not as individual acts, but as themes in themselves, alongside their psychological implications; violence as a universal emotional archetype and double-edged sword - the one we are constantly at play with and which we internalize in fear and resentment, later allowing it to emerge again in the form of rancor. In some countries like Mexico, violence can be in the atmosphere as tangibly as the smog.
This series of pieces includes sculpture, video, photography and other installations using materials infused with power (metal, wood, skin, bullet shells found in the desert between the United States and Mexico). As well as being a rigorous introspective exercise relating to violence and intimacy, it is all about dehumanizing and the serializing of the acts most transcendent in a human being: life and death. Near and far.
